CORONAVIRUS UPDATE 11.01.2021

At present we are in the 3rd National Lockdown.

The governement websites states:

Leaving home

You must not leave, or be outside of your home except where necessary. You may leave the home to:

  • shop for basic necessities, for you or a vulnerable person
  • go to work, or provide voluntary or charitable services, if you cannot reasonably do so from home
  • exercise with your household (or support bubble) or one other person, this should be limited to once per day, and you should not travel outside your local area.
  • meet your support bubble or childcare bubble where necessary, but only if you are legally permitted to form one
  • seek medical assistance or avoid injury, illness or risk of harm (including domestic abuse)
  • attend education or childcare - for those eligible

If you do leave home for a permitted reason, you should always stay local - unless it is necessary to go further, for example to go to work. Stay local means stay in the village, town, or part of the city where you live.

This means that you cannot leave or be outside of the place you are living unless you have a 'permitted reason'.

It is clearly incumbent upon all businesses to ensure that, if they operate, they do so within these critical regulations.  We have received updated guidance from our professional body, ‘The Self Storage Association UK’.  This states that, whilst we can remain open for use by essential services, those businesses that remain open and those individuals permitted to do so should only travel within the current government guidelines.  These include travel by key workers, online retailers, construction and trade workers.  They also include house moves and many other potential users of self-storage.

Border Store-It, therefore, currently remains open.  We are happy for those who, under government guidelines, are able to visit in the third lockdown to do so.   We would ask all others, for obvious reasons, not to visit until further notice.  Should it be necessary to visit our facility please ensure that facemasks are worn and that the hand sanitiser provided is used on entry and exit of the self-store building.  You will be required to observe the 2m social distancing rule while on the premises.  Please note that government guidelines may alter and that it is vital that all customers keep abreast of any changes.

The safety of our customers remains our paramount concern.  We are sure that all concerned will understand the need for the measures outlined above and we look forward to seeing you all again when this lockdown is over.

Please note that, as part of our virus management policy, the toilet facility will remain closed at the present time and our office remains closed to all customers.  We are, as always, contactable by email and telephone.
